A clear line through AI-assisted work
01 Waypoint Live Beta preview
Your agents are working in parallel. Keep their reported objectives, current steps, blockers, and next actions together in one project dashboard—so you can see where to step in.
Working, waiting for a tool, blocked, or asking for input. See the question and the agent’s attempted response in context.
Plan steps, elapsed time, and last-report age are visible together. Stale reports are marked clearly.
Pin conversations, search project history, and return to linked conversations through supported provider routes. Choose a board, compact rail, or always-on-top window.
Connected agents publish progress through Visual Waypoint’s reporting setup. Source-conversation links depend on the provider. Live shows elapsed time and reported plan progress, not a predicted completion time.
02 Timeline + session overview
A long AI conversation can hide the important turns. Timeline groups related activity into Work Spans, so you can follow the decisions, changes, and evidence without starting from the first message.

03 Smart Waypoints + Rich Notes
A line number is a fragile bookmark. A Smart Waypoint remembers the code around it. Keep a point or an entire range, attach your working knowledge, and find your way back. Useful in any codebase—with or without AI.
Your private navigation and documentation, stored outside the repository.
Commit the project pack and note files so teammates receive them with the repository.
Text fingerprints and surrounding context help relocate a Waypoint after edits above or below it, external file updates, or a cut-and-paste move within the same file. Uncertain matches are flagged for inspection—not silently treated as exact.
Paste images and formatted text into Rich Notes. Build lists and indented outlines, keep explanations, and write your own documentation. Changes autosave, notes persist between sessions, and conflicting drafts are preserved.
Copy a Smart Link to a code region. A collaborator with a matching checkout can resolve it in their own clone.
Your notes. Their codebase. Keep personal anchors while working in a client’s repository, without adding your private notes to their source control.
A Visual Studio 2022 extension
Dock Waypoints and AI Sessions beside your editor. Keep Rich Notes close, open Timeline, Review, and spatial views inside AI Sessions, and move from context back to code without leaving Visual Studio.
Create a Waypoint from your caret or a selected range of code.
Editor markers show your anchors. Range markers make the saved span visible.
Open a Waypoint to navigate to its file and resolved code location.
Prefer a separate window? Visual Waypoint Desktop offers the shared workflow outside the IDE, too.
04 Evidence + human review
Bring the agent’s statements alongside changed files, captured receipts, and missing evidence. Follow references into the code, then record what you inspected and what needs follow-up.

05 Spatial views
Step back from the text. Explore the same captured session as islands, cities, or a chronological route. Different perspectives help you orient yourself and find your way through the work.
Spatial views help with navigation and memory. They do not assess whether the code is correct.

Trust, by design
Visual Waypoint helps you understand and inspect AI-assisted work. The final judgment stays with you.
Capture storage, personal Waypoints, and exports are local. Project sharing is an explicit choice.
Live distinguishes what an agent says from when its update was received. Silence never becomes a success signal.
Opening a file isn’t approval. Mark inspection and follow-up explicitly, with claims and evidence kept distinct.
